The Los Angeles Pacific Electric Streetcars

Pacific Electric Streetcar, Los Angeles

On Saturday, June 19, The Burbank Historical Society will be doing a special video presentation on the historic streetcars that served the Los Angeles area during the 20s, 30s and 40s. At one point Los Angeles had one of the most extensive rail systems in the country. I know - hard to believe, but that would come to an end during the 1950s. The film Who Framed Roger Rabbit even confronts this topic in a humorous way.

Here are the details on the event:

Where:
Gordon R. Howard Museum
115 N. Lomita St., Burbank, CA

When: Saturday, June 19, 2010 2:00 PM
Cost: FREE!

If you haven't been to the Burbank Historical Society, it is worth a visit. They have nice exhibits on NBC, Disney, and Warner Bros as well as exhibits on non-entertainment Burbank history. Check out their website for more info: http://www.burbankhistoricalsoc.com/
